Yasper is only six months old, but we’ve had a great start to life in business and we’re ready to invest in our future. We’re recruiting for a PR Account Manager to join the team, and what we’re offering is a fast track to career progression. We see this as an integral hire for the agency, that will see the right candidate progress quickly and have a real say in the future of the business.

We’re not fussy about job titles – all we ask is that you have relevant comms industry experience, preferably working on multiple projects or accounts, in one or more of our core areas of focus: media relations; stakeholder engagement; marketing; digital communications.


Foremost, we’re looking for someone who is passionate about comms and entrepreneurial. And most excitingly of all, we’re offering the successful candidate the chance to co-design their own renumeration package.

Unique opportunity for an ambitious PR Account Manager - Leeds


Yes – we know. Everyone and their dog describe the role they’re recruiting for as a ‘unique opportunity’. Let us explain why we think this is the real deal.


Yasper is a young upstart, backed by experience. You have the opportunity to help build something special and share in the success that brings. We may be less than a year old, but we already have a range of stellar clients in retail, healthcare, infrastructure and transportation spaces. The organisations we work with range from councils and the NHS to SMEs and listed businesses. We pride ourselves on our agility and the impact we can deliver, bringing expertise to our customers and doing work that makes a difference.


We are backed by established Leeds agency Umpf, who is a shareholder in Yasper. This means that not only are we based at Umpf’s offices on the Leeds waterfront, but we can also share resources and expertise as well as getting to spend time with their brilliant team.


Unique we said, and unique we give. We’re after an Account Manager who wants to shape the agency, share pride in its growth and be rewarded for its success. The results we’ve seen to date prove that our clients value our offer, but we want to employ an individual who is in it for the long term. You’ll be given full visibility to the company finances and strategy, showing where your role will fit in and drive us forward over the next five years as you grow with the business and become a senior manager.

MacBook, generous leave, flexible working, blah blah blah. Yeah, we’ll provide all that. But because of how highly we’re valuing the importance of this role (the word integral springs to mind), we’ll ask you to co-author what your package looks like.


We’ll always recruit based on attitude and ability, rather than on the strength of a CV, but we’d really appreciate the following from candidates: drive and creativity – we don’t want someone who will just turn up and follow instructions; showing an interest – whether that’s in culture, politics or sport, we want you to show a passion; what we’re looking for is a future leader.


What you’ll need:

  • PR experience, preferably working on multiple accounts at an agency with B2B creds.

  • The ability to write, analyse and present.

  • A hunger for insight and unearthing the nuggets of information that’ll make the key difference to our clients.



What you’ll do:

  • You’ll be a key point of contact for a variety of clients, ensuring the delivery of great work.

  • You’ll be given key accountabilities for helping to grow the business, as well as codifying our values.

  • In the near future, you’ll be responsible for recruiting an Account Executive to support with service delivery.

  • You’ll report into the business owner, sharing new business ideas and insights in an energetic and well thought through manner.

  • You’ll bring creativity and pitch for new and exciting work, helping to onboard clients that interest you.

Note on diversity: our industry is shockingly bad on this front. It’s an existential problem, and Yasper appreciates this. We want to outperform the industry and a key part of the role will be identifying how we can do better than our peers.
